About the test

What you should know about this test
Who should take this test?

Based on official recommendations, this test should be taken every second year by people over 50. However, colon cancer has also been increasingly common for younger people. Therefore, you could also incorporate this test into your health check routine at a younger age.

What is being analysed?

The test checks for human blood in your stool which is a common early sign of colon cancer. This type of test is also known as a FIT test and also employed by doctor's and public health programs.

What if I test "positive"?

If you test positive - that means, human blood was detected in your stool - don't panic. Testing positive does NOT necessarily mean that you have cancer. It means that you should go see a doctor to undergo additional diagnostics like a colonoscopy. Blood in your stool can also have other, much less serious causes.

How often should I take this test?

Public health guidelines recommend you take this test every 2 years if you are older than 50.
